The Richard Rodgers Theatre in Broadway is filled with a lot of interesting performances that you will certainly enjoy. However, the one you should really watch if you happen to visit Broadway or the Richard Rodgers Theatre in particular is In the Heights. Directed by Thomas Kail, this Broadway performance is filled with Latin accents and amazing dances, with touches of pop and dance rhythms adding some spices to the mix.
The dances you will see in the show is choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler. He did a fantastic job nonetheless, since there are numerous scenes when you will be caught breathless just because the amazing moves performed by the show’s casts. With Latin or dance backing music, the dances are transformed into the heart and soul of this show.
Set at the Washington Heights in New York, an area where a lot of Dominican-American citizens live, all the main characters are introduced seamlessly at the beginning of this performance. You will be able to get a good understanding of the problems each character is having and will later on be taken to the twists of solving these problems as individuals and as a community.
In the Heights is designed to be light and easy to understand. You will also feel attached to the play itself, mainly thanks to the amazing casts of this show and their spectacular acting – and dancing – skills. It may not be the play you would watch three times in a row, but you will certainly be tempted to watch it again for the second time.
